STEPS

01. School Visit

School Visit

The first step in the SKM admission process is a tour of the campus. Our program is unique and we want you to see it first hand.

During your tour, you are welcome to observe our program in action. An observation will provide you with the best view of how the school work and how our teachers interact with the children.

School tours are conducted every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

02. Application

At your observation, an application form will be made available for your application. You may fill the form and return to us via e-mail or by hand.

03. Meeting

Meeting

Once the application is approved, a Parent Interview will be conducted with the Head of School, and then a New Child Visit will be scheduled. The Parent Interview will last approximately 30-45 minutes and is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the operations, procedures, and expectations of The Montessori School.

04. Enrollment

Enrollment

Congratulations! You have completed the admissions process. All fees, deposits and completed forms, including an up-to-date medical record, must be in the office before a child can begin his/her first day of school.

We enroll students from our waiting list throughout the year as space is available. Call for more information.

What to Expect

When entering SKM, a child can be expected to be in an environment where he is valued and respected, where he may pursue his interests and where everyone would be interested in what he has to say. He brings along with him a set of virtues and principles that are learnt and refined together with his friends, teachers and his family. As he embarks on his journey with SKM, rest assured that the main rule of thumb to be expected and reminded of everyone is that of respect. Respect for everyone and working with respect, making oneself aware of the promise to be kind to all creatures and other physicial living and non-living things as the child proceeds to complete his work cycle in everything he does and to perfect himself through aiming to be the best that he can be.

The prepared environment comprising a suitably qualified teacher in a child-centric building filled with didactic apparatus beautifully arranged in unmistakable order releases an energy almost as if to invite the child to use the learning materials, which activity is encouraged freely amongst the children as they socialise together intellectually piquing each other’s interest in the spirit of collaboration and bringing the best out of themselves as they build the adult they will one day become. Our children are most certainly armed with a mission in a safe and calm space where they are not freely allowed to do what they like, but mostly they turn out liking what they do!
